AMAN (The Asian Muslim Action Network) is currently seeking an editor and program coordinator for the Amana Media Initiative. The person chosen for this position will:
  • Gather news content and provide news services
  • Produce biweekly News Online mailing, quarterly Amana Magazine, and manage the AMANA website 
  • Promote Amana both internally and externally 
  • Prepare and submit funding proposals and manage the budget 
  • Publish a comprehensive a reference guide for reporting on Asian Islamic issues 
  • Organise, develop and deliver media skills training

Asia Society seeks a Website Producer to provide services on a freelance project basis to oversee the website for Muslim Voices, a 10 day arts and culture festival organized with BAM and NYU's Center for Dialogues to be held in New York City in June 2009.

According to the ad at WorkHalal.com:

The Website Producer should be highly organized, able to deliver on the project independently, have excellent web production and copy editing skills and should be experienced with web content management systems. In addition to text content, photos and videos will need to be gathered, prepared and posted to the site. An interest in performing arts and culture, particularly of the Muslim world, preferred.

What is Al-Qasas: Muslim Transcription Society?

Al-Qasas a sub-group of As Sirat is an online transcription society devoted to transcribing Islamic lectures for the benefit of others.

What are our aims and objectives?
The transcription of Islamic audio lectures has many benefits and uses. Al-Qasas aims to take this to a new level by producing transcription of many lectures to suit the different needs of the people. It is also a means for our dear brothers and sisters to gain access to knowledge they wouldn’t have otherwise.

How do we aim to achieve this?
Al-Qasas will produce transcription of audio lectures in different formats as well as providing extra features to enhance the learning experience.

These include:
Fully transcribed lectures followed by a summary
Summarised lectures
Al-Qasas Action Points
Tests & Quiz’s
And more

Al-Qasas is currently in its development stage before it can be fully underway. This is an exciting and highly beneficial project that needs your help. We are in need of many volunteers to take up different roles.

Film Editors

One project is a film dealing with an Iraqi family, scattered in eight different countries, that is finally reunited in 2007, after 45 years apart.
