Iqra! Newspaper

Iqra! is a Muslim newspaper with an interesting story. It was started in New Orleans, pre-Hurricane Katrina. The editor (Sister Cara-Karema) had to evacuate the city, leaving behind her home and all that was dear. She sustained heavy financial losses, but never gave up. With the help and dedication of volunteers from around the world, she continued to push ahead and publish the paper, which is now based in Houston, Texas.

Read more about Cara's story here.

The paper is in continuous need of writers. Join the Focus Group, and read the Guidelines for Writers.
